▪ BETWEEN REALMS: the Life Voyager's timeless transits, 8월 27일부터 미국 Caroline Univ.에서 전시
▪ 동양의 관념산수, 진경산수의 요소를 결합하여 현실의 풍경을 가상의 풍경으로  그린 형식
▪ AI와 협업해 디지털화 산수 작업하는 새로운 시도 선 보여 

가벼운 종이나 변하는 미디어가 아닌 디지털로 산수화를 그렸다. 경계를 허문 새로운 기법으로 주목받고 있는 윤여선 작가의 개인전이 8월27일부터 미국 Caroline University에서 열린다. 지난 동국제강의 컬러 강판 ‘럭스틸(Luxteel)’을 화폭으로 동양의 산수를 담은 학고재아트센터의 전시에 이어 이번 전시는 AI와의 협업으로 디지털화 산수로 제작한 NFT 작품 Crypto Voyager와 가상세계의 여정을 산수로 옮긴 Life Voyager 시리즈에서 동양의 관념산수와 진경산수를 담아낸 것이 특징이다.

이번 전시는 <BETWEEN REALMS> 로 부제 ‘the Life Voyager's timeless transits’의 모티브를 연속적으로 표현했다. ‘실재와 가상’, ‘존재와 소멸’, ‘자연과 인공’, ‘현재와 미래’, '실체와 가상 사이' 등을 교차하여 표현하면서 동양적 사색을 입혔다.

윤여선 작가는 이번 전시 "BETWEEN REALMS: The Life Voyager's Timeless Transits"는 삶의 여정을 묘사한다. 삶은 영역 간의 연속된 풍경이며, 이 연속성 속에서 'Life Voyager'로서 불확실성과 가능성, 그리고 잠재적 공간인 '중간'에 집중한다. 이번 전시에서 페인팅 작품과 함께 선보이는 NFT, 디지털 작품을 통해 현실과 가상의 경계를 넘나드는 새로운 개념을 시도하고, 현실의 풍경을 가상의 풍경처럼 재구성함으로써 동양의 전통 산수를 전환된 시각으로 보이고자 하였다. 윤 작가의 NFT 작품 Crypto Voyager는 NFT마켓플레이스 오픈씨(Opensea)에서도 만나볼 수 있다.

윤 작가는 "‘Life Voyager’는 오랜 시간동안 추적된 작업으로 삶의 속성, 미지의 세계로의 탐구, 자연과의 연결, 인간의 존재, 그리고 이 모든 것들 사이의 미묘한 관계에 대한 본질적인 시각을 제안하는 여정을 담은 작업이다”면서, “시간과 공간의 경계를 탐색해가면서 '삶의 살아있음'과 '존재의 복잡성'을 재구성된 풍경으로 나타내고자 하였다"라 설명했다.

한편, 윤여선 작가는 2014년 후소회 청년작가와 겸재정선미술관 내일의 작가로 선정된 이후 2019년 SDU 우수작가에 선정되고 2022년 동국제강 Luxteel 과 협업 등 개인전과 기획전을 통해 꾸준한 소통을 이어오고 있다.

최근 성균관대학교 미술학과 출신 예술학 박사로 졸업했으며, 성균관대학교와 인천대학교 출강을 했다.

BETWEEN REALMS: the Life Voyager's timeless transits

Yeosun Yoon seeks to present Eastern traditional landscapes of both idealized and real terrains with a transformed perspective by reconstructing real landscapes as if they are virtual. Through this, she explores the boundaries of time and space and the ambiguous moments of life, translating them into visible elements. Such exploration transcends mere representational expressions, aiming to pose profound questions about life, existence, and the essence of being.

The exhibition, <BETWEEN REALMS: the Life Voyager's timeless transits>, depicts the journey of life. Life is a continuous landscape between realms, focusing on the uncertainties and possibilities as a 'Life Voyager' and on the latent space 'in-between'. The visual turbulence in 'BETWEEN REALMS' is eternal, with this in-between space becoming a tranquility between creation and annihilation. This perspective is depicted through the painterly characteristics of flat surfaces, digital methods, and the newly introduced NFT 'Crypto Voyager' series.

'Life Voyager' is a journey proposing an intrinsic view on the attributes of life, exploration into the unknown world, connections with nature, human existence, and the subtle relationships among them all. This journey showcases the 'liveliness of life', 'Existential Instant', and 'transitions' through fragmented and reconfigured scenic images, where each fragment captures the temporal aspect of nature, revealing the overall continuity and organic relationships of life.
